An Aberdeen business is celebrating having scooped a top accolade at Federation of Small Business (FSB) Celebrating Small Business Scottish Awards.

The Wee Hemp Company was awarded Micro Business of the Year at the national awards ceremony in Edinburgh last night.

The small family run business will now go up against other businesses in the UK final which is to be held in London later this year.

Launched in only May 2018, The Wee Hemp Company, owned by Calum and Rebecca Napier sell Cannabidiol (CBD) infused products on their online store. They also advise customers on adopting a healthier lifestyle with an aim to help, inspire, educate and give others the option of a more natural route to obtaining and maintaining health and wellbeing.

The Micro Business Of The Year award recognises a business which has demonstrated success and business performance that is sustainable long term.

Calum Napier said: ”It’s absolutely amazing to be announced Micro Business Of The Year for Scotland 2019, we are blown away. This is fantastic recognition for the hard work we have put in over the past year.

“The UK CBD industry has many obstacles and challenges and new ones seem to crop up on a weekly basis, but this award will go a long way to breaking the stigma surrounding the hemp plant. As a nation we can begin to see the many uses it possesses, not just for our health and wellbeing, but for the planet as a whole.”
